Furniture sets
Providing sets, instead of single pieces, facilitates the whole process – from design to delivery and eventually finding new destinations for the furniture.
NORNORM is not just a concept, a company or a service — it is a new and circular way of doing business.
NORNORM provides businesses with attractive workplace furniture solutions based on a subscription model. Requiring neither investment nor long-term commitment, it offers flexibility to scale up or down as the company grows or downsizes. The concept is built on circularity, where every piece of furniture is kept in a loop from one workspace to the next, and every product carefully maintained and refurbished to extend its lifespan. Good for business, people and the planet.
For us it's simple — don't own. You lease your office. Your copy machine. Even your plants. So why should you own your office furniture? Free up your capital for more sensible investments.
Providing sets, instead of single pieces, facilitates the whole process – from design to delivery and eventually finding new destinations for the furniture.
In 48h hours, we go from floorplan to a finished workspace layout. Today the industry standard is weeks, and comes with a hefty cost.
NORNORM has re-thought the entire logistics process - from one-time delivery to constantly keeping the sets in a loop, from one customer to the next and with a stopover for refurbishment.
Our furniture sets are the building blocks making up the foundation of every workspace solution we offer.
Instead of spending time and energy picking each individual piece of furniture, we have pre-curated a range of products and organised them based on style and function — focus workstations, meeting & collaboration spaces, lounge areas, storage etc. This turns the design and implementation process from a 10,000 piece puzzle to a 10 piece one.
The total sqm of your space determines the price of your subscription, and that’s it.
This graphic shows an example of what focus areas of an office NORNORM can transform. Red areas show the few spaces that are not covered by our offer, such as toilets and service rooms. Yellow areas indicate what is entirely optional in our service. Everything else is a key part of our workspace solution.
In linear business models most logistical planning has a clearly defined one-way direction — from retailer to consumer, and that’s it. At NORNORM we have prioritised a supply chain that functions in both directions, making a product’s journey from one of our members back to us just as easy as the original journey it took to get there.
Reversed logistics enables the simple return, reuse and recycling of all our products. With reusable packaging, refurbished products as well as optimised and trackable delivery, our service is designed to maximise efficiency and minimise waste not just end to end, but all around.
Pick-up synced with a delivery to minimise CO2. Items are then brought back to our refurbishment centre to go through triage.
Refurbished pieces are sanitised and then carefully disassembled so all components can be reused. If a piece cannot be refurbished it is recycled.
The refurbished items are then sent back to the warehouse, and out to the next workspace. Out with the old, in with the good as new.
When you grow we extend your subscription one set at the time or with full floors. When you need to be nimble we remove what you don’t need.
Today, businesses are expected to adapt at a moment's notice, so why do we work in stagnant and unchanging offices? At NORNORM we aren't here to pretend that your first office design will be your last one. We don't just expect change, we are made for it.
Our service adapts as your needs change. You can replace whole furniture sets as many times as you want. We just ask you to keep them for three months before changing and provide us with a four week notice so we can prepare the best bespoke solution for you once again.
Keeping your workspace up to date and functional should not add anymore work to your day. With the NORNORM app you can have a consistent overview of your workspace solution all in one place.
Download the app to easily report issues by scanning QR codes, or get notified of current high density areas and receive proposals on alternative spaces to work.
NORNORM follows key criteria to select the furniture in our sets. We consider sustainable materials and durability, certified tests, and the possible degree of refurbishment. The key is to know every individual piece inside and out.
We have also developed a formula to help enable long term profits by securing a gross margin per day within our circular business. We do not see ourselves simply as a service, but as a test case for a better and more sustainable way of doing business. This is why we try and make our ‘secret sauce’ not so secret — we hope it will soon become the norm.
“Our model is built on variables others try and avoid. We are built for change, eager to adapt and defined by innovation. We are here today to shape the future of work.”
NORNORM
NORNORM understands the importance of keeping strict control of your costs. That's why our pricing model is based on transparency and predictability. Prices are determined by the size of your space at €3/sqm, nothing more and nothing less.
We achieve this affordability by building a service off of strong partners, a sharing economy, data-driven design, automation and always having an eye out for functionality to avoid waste.
We have the unfair advantage of having Inter IKEA as our largest shareholder and investor. Together we share the passion for creating sustainable and circular business models. The knowledge IKEA brings to the table has given us a head start in creating a new norm within office design and furnishing.
